X-Men Text Effect
You will understand in this tutorial how to apply the famous X-men effect to a text.
We will begin by creating a black background. Then create a text using the symbol in the picture.

Create a capital X with white colour so we can see it.

Then duplicate the layer by clicking the right click>Duplicate layer and you will obtain:

Then press the ‘eye’ from the copied layer and your duplicated layer will become invisible.Then press the right lick on the x layer to rasterize it so that you can go further.Right click>Rasterize type.

You will obtain this.

Then go to Image>Rotate Canvas>90 CW.
Then go to Filter>Stylise>Wind.
Make sure the setting are WIND and FROM the right.And click ok.Then do this one more time.Apply the wind effect one more time.Then go to Image>Rotate Canvas>90 CCW.And you should obtain this.

Then go to Filter>Distort>Polar coordinates and select Rectangular to Polar.


Select again the ‘eye’ to make visible the duplicated layer.
Using the Text tool select the capital X and the select the black color so that it is visible.
You should obtain something like this.

Center it so that it will look like this.

Then click for some adjustments.

Hue/Saturation. Slect the checkbox Colorize.And Set the value Hue to 185. Your image is ready and it should look like this.
